Happy Holidays!

To continue the new tradition that Ania started last holiday season, this month’s blog post is dedicated to showcasing another beaded ornament that she made several years ago. This is part of Ania’s project to create a beaded ornament for each of her daughters first 25 years of life.

To accompany the ornament, Ania wrote a message about her rug hooking wishes for the new year:

Santa ornament 2019
Ania’s beaded Santa ornament.

We are about to enter a new year, and a new decade. This feels like a time to look back, with ‘2020’ vision, and to contemplate the paths we wish to take going forward. I have spent a lot of time pondering this, especially with respect to my rug hooking journey.

For years, my goal in rug hooking has been to try to find new, unique, and artistic approachs to espressing myself through my hooking projects; and I look forward to opportunities to share these discoveries and insights with others through workshops, presentations, hook-ins and this blog. Sometimes, I find it is quite challenging and time consuming to find the right inspiration for a paticular project. One of my hopes in writing this blog is that it provides some inspiration to my fellow rug hookers in their own projects!

I’m looking forward to new and exciting adventures in rug hooking in the years to come, and I’m excited to continue to meet and work with others in the rug hooking community. And, I look forward to helping, teaching, and working with you to explore your new directions in our journey, together.

Wishing you all Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year!
